Implementing organization: Latvian Association of Structural Engineers.
The aim of the project is to conduct the competitiveness and quality of the Latvian construction industry by contributing the involvement of structural engineers, architects and geological engineers in the policy planning and legislation processes via supporting their public activities and mutual cooperation as well as to support acquisition of foreign financial instruments in the construction industry.
Direct target group of the project is constituted by the members of the Latvian Association of Structural Engineers, Latvian Geotechnical Society, Latvian Large Dams Association and the Association “Passive House Latvia”.
Indirect target group of the project is formed by all actual and potential specialists employed in the construction industry of Latvia and the Latvian society as a whole.
Place or implementation of the project: City of Riga, the implementation period: 12 months.
- Project administration;
- Development of the LASE Quality Management Model;
- Training about issues of Latvian and EU legislation, training about the possibilities to be granted by EU funds and foreign financial instruments and the implementation of such projects, workshop for developing an action plan for acquisition of EU financial instruments;
- Improvement and hosting of LASE internet site www.lbpa.lv;
- Analysis of construction legislation of other countries;
- Development of teaching aids (sample project) as an Annex to LASE standard LBPA-PS-001 „Structural design content and form requirements”;
- Signing the memorandum of cooperation between NGO and the Cabinet of Ministers of LR;
- Seminar about the project outcomes and publicity activities.
Some of the main expected outcomes of the project are a fully developed LASE Quality Management Model that will further the public activities of the Association and its involvement in the drafting and improvement of legislation; more successful implementation of the LASE standard LASE-PS-001 “Structural design content and form requirements” in practice and in the study process with the help of teaching aids; informing the public about the significance of a high-quality construction design in ensuring sustainable construction, well developed mutual cooperation and an action plan for acquisition of EU financial instruments; involvement of the members in the drafting and improvement of legislation regulating the Latvian construction industry and science.
92.07% of the Project is financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund. The sub-activity is administered by State Chancellery in cooperation with the Society Integration Foundation (SIF).
